Chris Hedges: The Crucifixion of Tomas Young - Chris Hedges' Columns - Truthdig

Chris Hedges: The Crucifixion of Tomas Young - Chris Hedges' Columns - Truthdig

To all I know,

I usually like Minnesota and all its cold and snowiness, but I gotta say this before anything else. I like groundhogs. With game seasonings and potatoes, they would make a nice, warm stew.

But seriously, I sometimes agree with Chris Hedges,--or not. But this isn't about Mr. Hedges or is it about me. This about Mr. Tomas Young.

I can empathise with Mr. Young's emotional and spiritual crisis. I can even understand how chronic acute pain can grind down a man's sanity. But I can't imagine war truly is and its costs, even after listening as a counselor to vets.
I've never had the honor of Mr. Young, but he's given so much for me. So much for you. So much for these United States. His gift and sacrifice and that of his family will always honored--but it should not be in vain.

This is the sacred ground of Tomas Young.

I step back and offer his words for Lent. May yours be blessed, and a Happy Easter.
